Industry Experts to Speak at 152nd Assembly for Bank Directors in Vail – September 23-26, 2021

Dallas, Texas—July 2021— the SW Graduate School of Banking (SWGSB) Foundation will convene its 152nd Assembly for Bank Directors at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek/Vail Resort and Spa in Beaver Creek/Vail, Colorado, September 23-26, 2021. Bank directors and their spouses from throughout the United States will participate in a program that includes strategic planning maven David Kemp, accounting ace Debbie Scanlon, balance sheet expert Jim Clarke, advertising expert Kelly McDonald, M&A specialist Dory Wiley, economist Ed Seifried and customer relations consultant Marci Armstrong.

"Bank director training has become key in community banking success stories," SWGSB Foundation president S. Scott MacDonald, Ph.D., said. "We take special care to make sure our programs reflect boards' latest concerns. And this Assembly is appropriately entitled, 'What’s Ahead for the Community Bank Director.' The Assembly will cover a number of important topics, including “Risk Management in a Pandemic” (Kemp); “The ‘Real Role’ of the Audit Committee” (Scanlon); “Optimizing the Investment Portfolio in a Low Rate Environment” (Clarke); “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” (McDonald); "What’s Up with This Economy?" (Seifried); and "Engaging Our Customers, Post Pandemic" (Armstrong). There will also be workshops on “The Fundamentals of Asset/Liability Management” (Clarke) and “Banking Capital Markets Update” (Wiley).

Established in 1957 at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, the Graduate School of Banking has become one of the top banking educational institutions today.
