New to the Assemblies for Bank Directors is The Certified Community Bank Director's Program (CCBD), which will provide participants a certified director designation. This program is cosponsored by the Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT). This certification for bank board members has resonated with community bank boards throughout the United States.

The companion Workshops for Bank Directors programs are designed specifically for outside directors and are hailed as the most comprehensive and informative bank director education programs in the financial services industry. Assemblies for Bank Directors

The Assemblies for Bank Directors draw bank directors and senior management from throughout America to discuss the latest issues affecting the national banking industry. By monitoring the banking industry's "hot topics" we ensure that the bank director program content is always fresh and dynamic. The locations are calm and relaxing; the speakers, top-notch. The bank faculty and facilitators are drawn from the nation's leading banking experts. With an eye on new bank regulatory expectations and D&O insurance provisions, these national banking programs are designed to complement a financial institution's own efforts in assembling a board whose strategic vision and oversight is second to none. This is a true American association of bank directors that serves the industry on multiple levels throughout the year – and has done so for nearly five decades.

NEW! The Certified Community Bank Director's Program

The Certified Community Bank Director's Programs has been created to address all areas of bank directorship - from duties and responsibilities to the fundamentals of bank finance.  The Certified Community Bank Director designation (CCBD) is a collaboration of and administered by the Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) and the SW Graduate School of Banking Foundation (SWGSB).  This certification covers not only the regulatory and fiduciary responsibilities of bank directors, but also board structures and processes.  In addition, the program focuses on what makes boards and directors effective as well as what is expected of them by regulators, examiners and shareholders.

The Certified Community Bank Director's Program now offers two dynamic tracks:

Level 1 addresses the most fundamental skills needed by directors today.  It is suitable for new as well as experienced directors wanting to be certified on core director responsibilities.

Level 2 has just been introduced for those directors who have completed Level 1 (or equivalent) and are ready to drill down into additional areas the modern director needs to master.

Workshops for Bank Directors

The Workshops for Bank Directors are a companion bank director program to the Assemblies for Bank Directors. Here we drill down into what bank directors must know to achieve high-performance while meeting the demands of bank regulatory agencies and bank insurers. The Workshops were designed with the outside bank director in mind, but are equally relevant for inside directors. The subjects covered change over time but the focus remains on the "vital few" duties and responsibilities of bank board service: evaluating bank performance; risk management; effective loan policy; enhancing shareholder value; audit committee responsibilities, and compliance hot buttons.
