Bank directors, aspiring bank directors, and those in financial institutions’ C-suites will gather January 29–February 1, 2026, in Oahu, Hawaii, to address critical issues affecting the banking industry
The SW Graduate School of Banking at SMU Cox (SWGSB), a nationally renowned source for banking executive education, is pleased to announce that Federal Reserve Vice Chair for Supervision Michelle W. Bowman will be the keynote speaker for our 161st Assembly for Bank Directors in Oahu, January 29–February 1, 2026.
Responsible for overseeing the supervision and regulation of depository institution holding companies and other financial firms supervised by the board, Bowman has been a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System since November 2018. As the only member of the board with banking and state supervisory experience, she chairs the board's subcommittee on Smaller and Regional Community Banking, and serves on the board’s Payments, Clearing, and Settlement Committee.
“We’re thrilled to have Vice Chair Bowman join us as keynote speaker,” said William T. Chittenden, Ph.D., president and CEO of SWGSB. “The new year will present new challenges and competition for community banks. Whether you are new to a bank board, aspire to be on a bank board, or are a board member of longstanding, the experts joining us in Oahu will prepare you for 2026 and beyond.”
